Gnome System Monitor
When a Program becomes unresponsive¶
A program can easily become unresponsive so to restart it follow the following steps;
Open up the System Monitor, you can do this by searching it in the directory.
It should look like this
In this case Slack is unresponsive. Right-clicking and pressing End or Kill will not do anything in this situation as you need to end the root of the process.
To show the process tree select the drop down options menu and select the item named "Dependencies"
Once the full process tree is shown follow the tree to the parent process, in this case it's
slack --disable-gpu. Simply right click that process and press Kill.
