We have always been about e-commerce. Back-end focused, technical, pushing boundaries. Big catalogues, high levels of customisation, critical systems, complex deployments. We started in the PHP 4 to PHP 5 era when object orientation was just beginning. Before Magento, we worked with osCommerce, the original open source e-commerce trailblazer that changed the game. We were working with Magento when it was still version 0.something. Now it is high-performance, strictly typed, object-oriented PHP 8. API-first development with TypeScript frontends. Our framework of choice is Symfony for its enterprise architecture, test-driven development support, and scalable patterns. We work with Laravel too, but for serious, long-term systems, Symfony is where we start. We still support Magento 1 and Magento 2.

We are happy to work with anyone who values expertise and honest professional service. Only two hours minimum project size. Basic implementations, bug fixes, performance improvements, security patching. We do not turn our nose up at anything. The same simple hourly rate whether it is a quick two-hour emergency fix or ongoing work at tens or hundreds of hours per month. No sales people. No fancy office. We used to have an office in Shipley until COVID forced us remote whilst paying expensive rent for an empty room. Since then we have not looked back. Our home connections are faster than the leased line we used to pay for.

We are massive believers in open source and bespoke. Bespoke software is on the rise. AI-driven development has made enterprise-level code quality achievable with high levels of customisation. Rapid development, fluid and fast UIs, total customisation, total control, no vendor lock-in. The future is incredibly exciting and full of opportunity, but also full of risk, hype bubbles, and over-promises based on misunderstanding the strengths and weaknesses of the technology.
